Application A bi-metal lug is used to connect electrical conductors made from different metals: aluminum (AL) and copper (CU). A bi-metal lug is crucial for ensuring a secure, corrosion-resistant, and efficient connection between aluminum and copper conductors in electrical systems. The Lugs are made from the highest quality aluminum and copper and are joined using a friction welding process. The HellermannTyton Lugs comply with the Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4325 Part 1:1995. A crimping tool is recommended for this application.
