What was the drive behind the development of the S50ROS polypropylene cable tie?
First and foremost, the motivation was our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We genuinely wanted to create a more climate-friendly alternative to conventional cable ties made from materials such as PA66 (nylon). Polypropylene (PP) is ideal for this because it not only offers a lower carbon footprint, but also excellent technical properties that make it an ideal choice for demanding applications.
So does the choice of materials play a significant role in reducing the ecological footprint? How exactly was this achieved?
Absolutely. We achieve lower carbon emissions by using polypropylene. Less energy is required in the production process of polypropylene than in the production of PA66. This enables us to reduce the product carbon footprint by up to 75% compared to conventional cable ties, and we can offer our customers a more sustainable solution overall.
What challenges had to be overcome to achieve the technical performance characteristics of the S50ROS, particularly in terms of tensile strength and heat resistance?
One of the most difficult challenges was to develop a new head design that would allow the tensile strength of the cable tie to reach approximately the same level as standard cable ties. This required the design of a new shape and extensive testing to ensure that the cable tie could withstand the high demands in various industries. We also had to ensure that the S50ROS would maintain its performance under continuous temperature and heat aging. Through the work of our product development team, combined with extensive product testing, we have been able to ensure the durability and stability of the cable tie.
How can different industries, such as the automotive, electronics and construction industries, benefit from the properties and advantages of the S50ROS cable tie?
The automotive industry benefits from the high tensile strength and chemical resistance of the S50ROS, which ensures reliable fastening of cable bundles in vehicles. In the electronics industry, the S50ROS ensures secure and gentle cable organisation due to its external serration and non-slip inner surface. The construction industry appreciates its resistance to various chemicals, which enables it to be used in demanding environments. Overall, the S50ROS offers a sustainable and reliable solution to all industries.
What feedback have you received so far from customers who use the S50ROS cable tie, and are further developments planned for this product in the future?
The feedback from our customers has been extremely positive. They particularly appreciate the combination of high performance and sustainability. Many customers report that the S50ROS has exceeded their expectations, especially in terms of durability and ease of use. We plan to expand the product line in the future and offer additional sizes and variants to meet even more specific customer requirements. We are also continuously working on optimizing the production process to further reduce our environmental footprint.
